China gifts 3D printing equipment to Mauritius for economic development and growth
As a gesture of friendship and warmth, China has gifted Mauritius with 3D printing equipment. The 3D printing equipment includes 23 3D printers, 12 3D scanners and 300 3D printing filaments. The gift includes South China’s Shenzen Aurora desktop 3D printers which were officially handed over on March 6th, by the Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius, Mr. Li li, to the Mauritius Prime Minister, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.
There have been previous initiatives taken by the Chinese by establishing the Confucius Institute at the University of Mauritius: A Gateway to China in December 2016. Diplomatic ties between the two nations date back to 1972. Mr Jugnauth stated in his official speech at the event held at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis that he was grateful towards the Chinese Government for showing its continued support towards the economic and technological development of Mauritius. The further said that the grant by the Chinese government will be used for advancements in information and communication technology in various state departments, which would further strengthen the ties between the two countries.
China has already made sincere efforts to contribute to the economic development of Mauritius, in the form of the donation of semi-low floor buses, the Bagatelle Dam project, a new Terminal at the SSRI airport, and an Olympic stadium by the People’s Republic of China to the East African country. Ambassador Li Li said that the donation will further enhance the existing amicable relations between the two countries. The 3D printers will be distributed amongst the best institutes in Mauritius.
Mauritius has been and will continue to be faithful to China. This gesture of friendship between the two countries has existed for many years and will hopefully continue well into the future.
