Make Magazine has been reviewing 3D printers over the past few years and the magazine’s annual  “Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing” has become the most credible source of information on 3D printers. This year’s guide has been launched right on time for Christmas, a time when huge sale of desktop 3D printers is expected. In this year’s review, Ultimaker emerged as the winner out of 26 3D printers reviewed. It got the “Best In Shootout” award, which essentially means the best 3D printer award. In the issue, author Eli Richter said, “Although Ultimakers second offering recently celebrated its first Birthday, its performance in our Shootout was head and shoulders above the rest. One has to dig deep to find things not to like about the Ultimaker 2.”

The machine was hailed for its ability to print objects with very little hassle. Also the quality of prints is exceptional with smooth fabrication and lot of details. There were some drawbacks with the printers, lack of second extruder, no wireless capability and no autobed leveling. But the advantages outsource disadvantages by a huge margin making this printer the best 3D printer in the market.
