think3D has set up India’s largest integrated 3D Printing facility in Visakhapatnam in partnership with Govt. of India. This facility has been set up at India’s first dedicated medical device manufacturing zone named AP MedTech Zone (AMTZ) located in the industrial city of Visakhapatnam, AP. This facility has been launched under “MAKE IN INDIA” initiative to facilitate innovation in India. The services we offer are 3D Printing, 3D Scanning, 3D Designing, CNC Machining, Vacuum Casting, Injection Molding.

3D Printing: In 3D Printing we offer services in 9 technologies such as FDM, SLA, DLP, MJP, PJP, CJP, MJF, SLS, DMLS. FDM stands for Fused Deposition Modelling. In this 3D printing is done through extrusion of thermoplastic material. We have more than 15 FDM 3D Printers such as Ultimaker, Aha, FlashForge, Divide By Zero, Raise3D, ZMorph VX etc. SLA stands for Stereolithography. It is a laser based process that works with photo polymers. We have 6 SLA 3D printers such as Formlabs, 3D Ware etc. DLP stands for Digital Light Processing. It is similar to SLA but the major difference is the light source. MJP stands for Multi Jet Printing. It is an inkjet printing process that uses piezo printhead technology to deposit either photocurable plastic resin or casting wax materials layer by layer. We have one MJP machine in-house. PJP stands for Poly Jet Printing. It has the ability to print multiple materials and colors together. We have one PJP machine in-house. CJP stands for Color Jet Printing. It is a binder jetting process which is used to produce high definition, color prototypes. We have one CJP printer named Projet 660 Pro. MJF stands for Multi Jet fusion. It is a powder based technology which does not use lasers.We have one machine in-house. SLS stands for Selective Laser Sintering. It is a laser based process that works with powdered materials. We have Sintratec and Sinterit machines in-house. DMLS stands for Direct Metal Laser Sintering. It is a laser sintering process mainly used for building metal prototypes. We have one machine in-house.

1.3D Scanning: It is the process of converting physical objects into 3D images using 3D scanners. In 3D Scanning we offer the following services
3D Scanning: For scanning the object we need scanners, so these are the scanners.
a)White light scanner: This is used for scanning the surface height measurements of an object. Some of the white light scanners we have in house are Einscan Pro 2X, Einscan Pro 2X Plus,etc.
b)Blue light scanner: This scanner produces high resolution images. Using this scanner we can get highly accurate readings. Solutionix C500 is the blue light scanner we are using.
c)Pulse scanner: In this scanner a ray of light is focused on a distant place and the pulse scanner measures the distance from origin to destination.

Applications:
Medical field: In medical field 3D scanning is mainly used to produce prosthetic limbs and detailed study of body parts.
Engineering: With the help of 3D scanning we can get exact measurements of an object which makes the reverse engineering process easy.
Animation: 3D scanning is used by the game developers for scanning both the objects and environments.

2. Dimensional inspection: Inspection is nothing but checking or examining the things. Dimensional inspection is the process of verifying whether the manufactured equipment is as per required dimensions or not.

Applications: 
Automotive industry: All the parts are examined so that we can know whether all the parts are as per dimensions or not.
Medical: All the medical instruments are checked using dimensional inspection.

3.Reverse engineering: It is the process of reproducing the same objects. With the help of 3D scanning we can produce an exact copy of the object by reverse engineering.
Importance: We cannot start from the beginning if we want to develop a new product every time.And we need to optimize the resources available and reduce the production time. So in order to gain all of them we need a reverse engineering approach.In this way we can improve the quality and less maintenance costs.
Process: Firstly the data is scanned and it is imported.Finally the model is created.

Applications:
Engineering: It is used when we want to design a new product or to reproduce the same product.
Medical field: It is used to produce replicas of the patient’s structure.
Animation: Animated objects are created using reverse engineering.

4. 3D Inspection: It is a testing technique in which the 3D virtual image is created. This is used to review and analyse the data in 3D form.

Applications: Using 3D inspection we can detect the flaws of a product. Example food industry, defense, automotive etc.

5.CMM(Coordinate measuring machine): It is a device which measures geometry of objects. The distance is measured with the help of a probe. A probe is used for examining the information.

Applications: It is used for measuring the machine parts in various fields such as aerospace, automobile, military, defense etc.

3D Designing: It is the process of creating a 3D model with the help of CAD software.
There are various tasks in 3D designing. Now let us know about different types of designing services we have.
Organic Modelling: In this we create 3D models of living creatures such as people,animals, trees etc. This is done without considering parameters ,dimensions etc.
Example: Miniatures, cartoons etc.

Inorganic Modelling: In this we create 3D models of non living things which are man made. This is done by considering all the parameters and dimensions.
Example: Car,Bike

Medical Modelling: This type of modelling is used in medical fields which is useful for doctors. While going for surgeries they will make a demo on this type of model. Here the input is DICOM(Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) File.
Example: Dental,Human Implants etc.

Reverse Engineering: This is the process of producing replicas of the same model. Generally this is used when we want to produce the same model or to improve the features of that model. It can also be defined as the process of extracting the data that is enough to reproduce a model. This allows the manufacturers to improve the features of the product.In technical terms we can say it is the process of converting stl file into core file.

CAD Modelling: CAD stands for Computer Aided Design. Any model can be designed using this software. CAD is mainly used in engineering drawing and construction. Using this we can design both 2D and 3D models. General applications of this are automotive, aerospace, architectural design etc. The file formats are stl, obj, iges, step, dxf, dwg, prt, x_t, sldprt, pdf. Any of your ideas can be turned into reality with the help of CAD.

3D Rendering: It is defined as the process of converting 3D models into 2D images. We have seen many of the 3D rendered images in our real life. For example animated cartoons, social media, online shopping websites, medical imaging, video games, CGI in movies etc. The rendered images may be realistic or non-realistic.

Miniature Design: Miniatures are small versions of things which are normally larger in size. In other ways they are small scale production of any objects or models. In order to design a miniature we need photos of that object in different angles i.e front view ,top view, side view etc.

Mesh Repair and Correction: In order to repair or correct any stl file, it is converted into mesh format. A mesh is a collection of vertices, edges ,faces which form a 3D shape. This is done for getting accurate results.

Character Modelling: It is the process of creating a character. The techniques are essential for third – and first person experiences within film,animation,games and VR training programs.

CNC Machining: In CNC Machining we have 4 technologies, such as Milling, Turning, Wired EDM, Die Sinking EDM.  CNC Milling is used for cutting materials in which the tool rotates and the surface is static. It is a special form of computer numeric controlled machining which is used for cutting non-cylindrical objects. This is similar to both drilling and cutting. CNC Turning is a process of creating custom parts which is opposite to milling. This is used for cylindrical objects. The turning tool is static and the surface rotates. WEDM stands for Wired Electric Discharge Machining, this is used for cutting electrically conducting materials. Electrical discharge between the wire and workpiece creates sparks which cuts the material in desired shape. DEDM stands for Die-Sinking Electric Discharge Machining. In this electrode the workpiece is submerged in an insulating liquid and connected to a suitable power supply. Due to the electricity between the two parts the desired material is formed.

Applications:
Medical field: Surgical instruments and implants are cnc machinable products.
Aerospace: Components such as fuel parts and gears are cnc machinable.

Vacuum Casting: This is a process in which the silicone mold is placed in a vacuum chamber. The raw material is mixed and then poured into the mold. Then the vacuum is released and mold is removed from the chamber. Finally curing is done, in which resins are stored at 35°C and mold at 70°C. Resins are cured in order to prevent crystallisation.

Applications: Automotive parts, consumer goods, medical devices are manufactured using vacuum casting.

Injection Molding: Injection Molding is one of the 3D printing processes used for producing parts by injecting molten material into the mold. This is used for producing high volume parts. The mold may be two plates or three plates depending upon the type of component to be manufactured. Firstly the process begins with Polycarbonate granules being fed via a hopper, which is the entry point for the material. And then the screw rotates and pushes the granules forward. Now the granules are heated and melted inside. In between, there are heating elements that are used to melt the material. Now the molten plastic is injected through the nozzle into the core and cavity plates of the mold. After the material cools and solidifies, the mold opens. Finally, the molded part is ejected.The melted material should be distributed evenly into the mold. This process is used for producing high volume parts.

Applications:
Automotive parts: Vehicles consist of plastic components which are manufactured using injection molding.
Household items: Bottle caps, taps, electrical switches, brushes, plastic cups etc are made through injection molding technique.
Medical Devices: Syringes and other medical instruments are made through injection molding.
