COVID-19 is an infectious disease that can affect your airways and lungs, caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. The most common symptoms associated with COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough, but symptoms can take up to 14 days to appear so it is difficult to know if someone has been infected ahead of these conditions appearing. In the meantime, infected people can spread the virus unknowingly.

Design and Manufacturing

We at think3D, manufacturing these test cartridges for Molbio Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., a diagnostic company located in the medical device manufacturing zone. These cartridge components are manufactured by a process called Injection molding. Two components complete a cartridge, once manufactured they are sent to the client company to undergo clinical tests and then converted into a COVID-19 test cartridge.

Purpose of the test cartridge

Implementing this COVID-19 test cartridge has huge time and cost savings when compared to laboratory screening, and will help to control the spread of the virus by identifying infection rapidly and accurately. We are manufacturing these cartridges for coronavirus testing. Swabs will be loaded into the test cartridge and impregnated with chemicals, this cartridge is then loaded into a device (COVID-19 test device) and within 30-45 min, result will be displayed on the LCD screen.

This test cartridge is used for determining the results of the number of people affected by COVID-19 within a short span of time. Each test cartridge will undergo 8 tests after the manufacturing and later will be used to test the affected patients. It is capable of 16 sample extractions with one recharge and has a simple, user-friendly automatic operation.
