The Purmundus challenge backed by Formnext and powered by Tct, is an international exhibition and conference we held every year in Frankfurt and Main since 2012. It invites people to make products for solving important international issues, using 3D printing technology. The Purmundus label accepts varied submissions, from futuristic concepts that require upcoming technologies, to market-ready designs available to consumers instantly. This challenge has seen innovative ideas and products which address various issues including:
• Change in Climate and climate-related goals
• Growing population
• Increasingly large conurbation due to a rising share of the growing global population
• Location flexibility in job markets
• Public transport issues
• Internet services
• Increase in self-driving vehicles
• Need and availability of e-bikes
• Connectivity issues
The Purmundus challenge guidelines were explained as the need, freedom, and potential offered by generative production. It further stated that it was on a lookout for mobility solutions, portable luggage solutions, and new ideas for portable products.
The participants can send their entries till September 2016 and the final designs will be displayed at Formnext on November 15-18.
